Our Alliance

The Western Bexar County Community Alliance Incorporated (WBCCA Inc.) was formed following the successful passage of SB6 in 2017, “The Municipal Annexation Right to Vote Act”, which requires a vote of residents before large municipalities can annex unincorporated areas. The alliance evolved from the former “NW 151 Annexation Group” that was instrumental in convincing state lawmakers to pass the bill.

We are a non-profit

The WBCCA Inc. is a not-for-profit 501(c)4 organization that focuses on advancing the interests of the individual homeowners and associations of unincorporated areas of western Bexar County in their quest for a safer, cleaner, and more enjoyable place to live and raise families. These quality-of-life concerns are first and foremost in everything the alliance does.

WBCCA Inc. is an a-political, non-partisan association whose prime philosophy is pro-active involvement with Home Owner Associations (HOA), residents, the Bexar County Judge and Commissioners Court, City of San Antonio (COSA), state officials, and the area’s public service providers to proactively address issues such as zoning, annexation by cities, development, schools, traffic flow and safety that currently or potentially affect WBCCA Inc. neighborhoods and their residents. The alliance sponsors HOA and resident educational and informational forums to improve the quality of life and to improve HOA services and management.

Members of WBCCA Inc. are working to research the issues, keep interested residents informed, and provide a forum for residents to express their views, as well as to continue to support state representatives who are working with us.

Financial support is needed to engage the services of an experienced law firm that can provide guidance and advice to WBCCA Inc. The HOA membership contribution is $5.00 per household per year. Local businesses may also join for an annual fee of $25.00.

WBCCA Inc. meets on the second Wednesday of each month; at the present time we are meeting via Zoom. To be added to the meeting notification list, please complete the Contact information form.

Homeowner associations, businesses, and individual homeowners are invited to attend alliance meetings and join the alliance.

In the news

In 2016 it became apparent that the City of San Antonio (COSA) intended to expand their borders and increase tax revenues by annexing communities in the western area of Bexar County. In response, residents of Alamo Ranch formed the organization “NW 151 Annexation Group” to work with the state legislature for the purpose of enacting a law to give residents the right to vote prior to any annexation to a municipality.
Fortunately, that effort was successful and the legislature enacted SB6; Governor Abbott signed the bill which became law on August 1, 2017. Following that success, the Annexation Group transformed into a group with a wider purpose and became the “Western Bexar County Community Alliance, Inc.” (WBCCA). As with the prior organization, WBCCA is a volunteer citizen group comprised of residents in the Alamo Ranch and Potranco areas of Bexar County. We are driven by a single goal: to do our part in making our community a better place for all. Our decision-making process is informed by working with all stakeholders, including our local and state legislative representatives, local businesses, service providers and citizens. We strive to build productive relationships and make a positive impact with all of our pursuits.
Following are links to several articles describing some of the efforts supported by WBCCA. We hope you will join us!
